Aviation Weather
When you think of aviation you may only think of things such as commercial jetliners or helicopters, but in reality general aviation also includes the use of balloons, parachutes, para gliders, hang gliders, small engine aircraft and more. And though there are a variety of different ways to accomplish and aviation endeavor, aviation weather is one thing that affects aviation, no matter what type it is.
In commercial aviation, it is the job of air traffic and ground controllers to monitor aviation weather and make sure that planes are safe to fly their given routes. Air traffic controllers are used to coordinate flights and to monitor the skies to ensure safe aviation weather for all people who are involved. There are times, however, when aviation weather is not ideal and planes must be grounded and wait for better weather. Though this is often a cause of many delays and loss of money, if aviation weather is not safe then a plane should not be allowed to fly.
Aside from commercial aviation, hobby pilots, para gliders, hang gliders, and others should also closely monitor aviation weather. If weather conditions are not ideal, you should consider saving your flying time for another day when you safety will not be at risk.
More than ever, safety is a huge concern when it comes to aviation and monitoring aviation weather. And while aviation equipment is more advanced than ever, it is still best to only fly in weather that is safe and doesn’t pose a risk to pilot, crew, or passengers
